The review of results and appeals procedure provides candidates with an opportunity to ensure that the assessment and moderation process, conducted by STARS International University® and its global network of partners, has been carried out correctly. Review of results and appeals allow for confirmation that the awarded grade is fully justified, including all adjustments, consideration of special circumstances, and/or the application of sanctions for academic misconduct.

Scope and Grounds for Appeal:

The STARS International University® Policy on Review of Results and Appeals applies solely to assessment and moderation procedures and their application, not to matters of academic judgment.

Appropriate grounds for appeal include:

1. a belief that documented procedures were not followed correctly;
2. an error in the calculation of marks;
3. incorrect application of a decision regarding special circumstances or academic misconduct penalties.

If a review of results or an appeal indicates that the result originally awarded is higher than justified by the candidate's work, the mark may be lowered. If a review of results or an appeal raises doubts about the marks awarded to other candidates, a full investigation will be conducted to ensure the accuracy of all marks awarded.

To apply for a review of results and/or an appeal, please contact the STARS International University® Administrative Office. The applicant will be provided with an appeal form, which must be completed and submitted to the program coordinators for further consideration.
