STARS University: Uzbekistan Strengthens Space Cooperation with Azerbaijan
STARS University: Uzbekistan Enhances Space Cooperation with Azerbaijan
The University Becomes a Strategic Bridge Between Education, Science, and Foreign Policy.
During the Space Technologies Congress in Baku, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between STARS International University and the National Space Agency of Azerbaijan – Azercosmos.
This initiative strengthens bilateral ties between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in the strategically vital fields of space technology, digital development, and the training of a new generation of engineers.
Particular Significance:
Cooperation with fraternal Azerbaijan — supported at the highest state levels — is laying the foundation for scientific and educational integration.
STARS University is the only university in Uzbekistan that is a full member of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF), alongside organizations like NASA, ESA, SpaceX, and ISRO.
The university has become the first in Central Asia to enter into a direct agreement with another country's national space agency.
This step directly aligns with the course set by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev towards technological independence, digital diplomacy, and the cultivation of a new generation of professionals.
What is Being Opened?
Academic programs in aerospace and satellite technologies
Real-world space projects for Uzbek students
Participation in transnational research and development initiatives
Joint promotion of humanitarian and technological initiatives on the international stage
STARS is becoming an academic partner of the state in implementing scientific diplomacy,
and Uzbekistan is becoming an active participant in the global space agenda.
This is not just a step forward for the university.
It is a contribution to the country's image.
It is the recognition of Uzbekistan as a new intellectual hub of the region.
