Already the first year of a bachelor's degree
A full programme with academic credits, not a Foundation.

THE MAIN IDEA
International Year One is the first year of an International University Consortium bachelor's degree programme. Developed within the university consortium, it is recognised by receiving universities as an academic basis for progression to Year 2. Students complete Year 1 at STARS International University in Tashkent, successfully finish the programme and continue the corresponding degree programme from the second year at an available destination university of their choice.

ENTRY POINTS
Three programme levels for different academic backgrounds

ADMISSION
IY1 is not limited to graduates of one specific Foundation programme. The current admissions system offers several academic entry routes:
6 admission routes
Successful completion of a recognised Foundation with the required subjects and grades.

Usually at least two relevant subjects; required grades depend on the chosen pathway.

A general benchmark of 24 IB points; STARS confirms the precise academic profile for each pathway individually.

Successful completion of the first year of a relevant bachelor's programme at a recognised university may be considered as an entry qualification if the study level is comparable.

Level 3 equivalents are available for some countries.

Indicatively, IELTS 5.5 for Business, Accounting and Events; around IELTS 6.0 for Law and Computer Science. The exact level depends on the chosen pathway.
PROGRESSION
Six clear steps from choosing a subject to enrolment at an overseas university.

Students select a pathway: Business, Accounting and Finance, Events Management, Engineering, Law or Computer Science.
During IY1, students and STARS shortlist universities and programmes based on budget, country, ranking and academic results.
The necessary IY1 grades, subject-specific requirements and English requirements are identified for the chosen programmes.
STARS helps prepare documents and submit an application for further study through the consortium system.
Students who meet all requirements receive an offer to continue at one of the available universities on their chosen programme.
After successfully completing IY1, obtaining a visa and enrolling, students move to their chosen university and continue from the second year of the bachelor's degree.
TUITION FEES AND GRANTS

The STARS grants and payment policy for the 2026-2027 academic year applies to IY1. The grant system can substantially reduce the actual cost for strong, motivated candidates.
Support for international students and priority markets in accordance with the policy.

Additional support for students entering eligible STEM pathways.

An additional grant when the full prepayment conditions are met.

An additional grant for a verified high level of English.

Support for confirming admission early within the specified deadlines.

Approximately USD 120 per month under the current student accommodation model.

Approximately USD 12-13 per day, including breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Gym, swimming pool, wrestling, boxing and other available activities.

Preventive screening through cooperation with Medion.

Student, cultural and social initiatives.

INTERNATIONAL WORK AND INTERNSHIPS / PAID PROGRAMMES
Students who meet the established criteria may have access to international paid work and internship programmes, including opportunities in Türkiye, Qatar, the UAE, Germany and other countries. In applicable programmes, students cover the required visa/work-permit costs; flights, accommodation and meals may be provided at no additional charge under the terms of the specific programme.
The first year at STARS means more than 120 academic credits. It also prepares students for an international university environment: academic English, independence, assessment skills, a professional profile and a confident transition to the second year.
ADMISSION
We start not by asking “Where can we send you?” but “Which career, country and university would you like to choose?”

Passport, educational documents, grades/transcript, proof of English level and chosen pathway.
The admissions team identifies the most suitable IY1 pathway based on prior education and relevant subjects.
The student and STARS create a preliminary shortlist of suitable programmes and universities for further study.
Once the academic entry point is confirmed, the student receives an admission offer and pays a seat reservation deposit.
During IY1, STARS supports students' academic progress and helps them prepare for admission to their chosen university.
After successfully completing IY1, students continue from the second year of their chosen available bachelor's programme.
